International Criminal Court is Born Despite Resistance from the U.S.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has finally come into force after 10 states simultaneously deposited their instruments of ratification on April 11, 2002, in New York City and the United Nations. Sixty-six countries have now ratified the ICC Treaty. One hundred and thirty-nine countries are signatories to its creation. Finally the world will have a permanent criminal court to try cases involving the worst offenses known to human kind war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. read more »
